My name is Ava and I'm a Brazilian creator currently based in Marseille, France.

With a Fashion Design degree which has followed my abandoned Architecture studies back in Rio de Janeiro, I have got to work as a designer, pattern maker, studio manager, model and massage therapist through my 6 years living in Paris. By the end of 2023, I decided to move to the south of France after a big desire for change which includes a step away from the normative fashion industry to make my own path.

My inspiration comes from subjectivities and rituals that have allowed me to experiment within myself different expressions and desires through transformative periods of my life, materializing my connections within the dualities of places, feelings, cultures, and so on. My creations receive their energy as I see them as a process of manifestation of beauty, empowerment, desire and healing. Nurture lies in nature, felt through the femininity of the Mediterranean Sea to memories of the Atlantic Forest mountains close to my hometown, Nova Friburgo.

The first dress I have ever made as a personal project was EVA, in 2018. It carries symbols, experiments and poems dedicated to an idealized femininity as main inspiration, like fuel for my personal transition. Since this point I keep transforming and combining the core of this experience into new projects in a never ending narrative to keep providing beauty and magic in my life.

As I have always worked and experienced different activities simultaneously, they get to blend together in one big project. I have started to explore jewellery by myself around 2021 as an extension of my work, being developed as a process that is purely crafted by hand and self-thought. After an insight to explore the use litoterapeutic stones within it, I have discovered hematite and since then it has been my main material of choice for my interest in its history and properties.

This website is a platform where my universe involving garments, jewelry, music, Tarot and anything else that comes by can be discovered and supported.

Thank you!

HEMATITE IS AN IRON MINERAL WHICH HAS BEEN USED IN DIFFERENT CULTURES THROUGH TIME AS A HEALING AND EMPOWERING TOOL

THE NAME HEMATITE COMES FROM THE GREEK WORD HAIMA α ἷ μ α WHICH MEANS ''BLOOD'' BECAUSE OF THE ASSOCIATION TO IT'S RED PIGMANTATION USED SINCE PALAEOLITHIC TIMES

DURING THE MIDDLE AGES, IT WAS CALLED BY “BLOODSTONE” AND “STONE WHICH BLEEDS”

IN ANCIENT EGYPT IT WAS USED IN MEDICINE FOR THE TREATMENT OF WOUNDS AND BLOOD-RELATED DISORDERS BY INCREASING THE LEVELS OF BLOOD PRODUCTION BY IRON STIMULATION

ANCIENT GREEKS HAVE ASSOCIATED THIS STONE WITH THE PLANET MARS AND THE GOD OF WAR ARES. SOLDIERS USED TO RUB HEMATITE’S PIGMENT OVER THEIR BODIES BEFORE A BATTLE FOR BELIEVING IT WOULD KEEP THEM INVULNERABLE WITH IT'S CAPACITY OF INDUCING COURAGE AND STRENGHT

THESE STRONG SYMBOLOGIES AND PROPERTIES OF HEMATITE HAVE BROUGHT IT UNTIL PRESENT TIMES AS A FIERCE MATERIAL FOR LITHOTHERAPIE, THERAPEUTIC MASSAGES, COLOR PIGMENTATION AND JEWELRY MAKING
